General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Forage Pellet and Cube Mill operations from a day-to-day standpoint. The Mechanic will also be expected to be an integral member of the safety program and workplace leader in the aspect of safety and operations. The Mechanic will be responsible for preventative maintenance, ongoing machinery management, and some training to employees on basic operational and maintenance functions to ensure efficient operations with all aspects of the Forage Mill facility. The shift will be Monday-Friday, 5 am to 2 pm, with call-in requirements as needed.
Key Skills and Abilities:
Experience to provide accurate timelines for on-time completion of projects
Strong project management skills, including large-scale capital improvement and construction projects
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Strong process implementation and time management skills
A professional individual with strong leadership and organization skills
Ability to create and lead a cultural focus on safety
A mechanically inclined individual with experience and skills in many facets of industrial operations, including; welding, electrical, bearings, chains, shafts, belts, electric motors, etc.
Ability to efficiently diagnose, disassemble, repair, or replace and machinery and maintenance projects
Ability to follow company policy regarding worker safety and housekeeping standards
Experience working with a diverse workforce
MS Office computer skills
Ability to speak fluent Spanish is a plus
Standard Hours: M-F 5 am-2 pm Call-ins as required

Education and Experience:
8+ years experience in facility maintenance
Experience in feed or forage operations is a plus
Journey trade certification required
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:
Lead by example. This is a hands-on role
Repair and manage all maintenance and upgrades as well as provide input for future capital needs for the facility
Work with existing maintenance personnel to coordinate major equipment repair, oversee preventative maintenance programs, monitor parts inventory levels, and maintain written machinery maintenance SOPs.
Must have a working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, process flow diagrams, and construction blueprints
Must have a working understanding of the principles of extrusion, pelleting, particle size reduction, and dry bulk material handling
Responsible for and abiding by all aspects of plant and employee safety as outlined in the Wilbur-Ellis Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System
Follow all safety, regulatory, and administrative policies and procedures
Meet and complete all WECO regulatory safety requirements
Ensure equipment passes employee safety inspections, food safety inspections, quality control inspections and meets OSHA standards
Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook
Ensure safe operation of company equipment
Present a professional image to our internal and external customers through personal appearance and overall location cleanliness
Being the first point of contact with management when equipment goes down
Using various tools and equipment to execute the job safely and efficiently
Make accurate measurements to align and fit machine parts together
Operate tools and equipment, such as grinders, welders, cutting torch, etc., to modify machine parts for use in equipment
Tests equipment to make sure it is working properly
Takes machinery apart for replacement or repair and then adjusts, oils, fixes, and replaces machinery parts
Troubleshoots problems with equipment and adjust as necessary
Responsible for training of new maintenance staff
Responsible for creating a program around training future mechanics
Compensation and Benefits:
