Warren Transport Inc. is currently looking for a Fleet/Safety Compliance Specialist. Position is located at the Headquarters in Billings, MT.
Overview: The Fleet & Safety Compliance Specialist is responsible for transportation safety including (but not limited to); DOT compliance, auditing of driver logs, driver qualification files, ELD and DVIR management. The candidate will also be tasked with interpreting/establishing policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety.
This position reports directly to: Safety Director
Essential Functions:
• Logbook Auditing
• DOT File Management and Training
• Document Control & Recordkeeping
• Liaison to HR on all applicable issues (e.g. Drug & Alcohol Compliance for DOT)
• DOT Compliance
• Logbook Training for CMV drivers
• Driver Training on Pre-Trip / Post-Trip Vehicle Inspections
• Preparation and Maintenance of DOT Driver Qualification Files
• Licensing, Title Work, and Highway Use Tax Returns
• DOT Accident Files & Annual Accident Register
• Notification of Physical Renewals
• Sorting, scanning, and distribution of logs and resulting reports/letters
• Vehicle maintenance and inspection records
• Monitor safety data trends of CSA, SMS scores, e-log compliance, and driver performance
• Involvement with new driver safety orientation, accident reviews, remedial safety training
• Accident reporting and management
• Manage and run safety committee
• HOS, DVIR and Maintenance record auditing
• ELD Program management
Skills and Knowledge Required:
• Significant experience with logbook auditing
• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Must have the ability to carry out assigned tasks and projects to their completion with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to work independently and with multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, including licensing and title requirements, hours of service, maintenance, and other regulatory requirements.
• Expert knowledge of office procedures
• Computer skills (proficient use of word processing and spreadsheets as well as other hardware and software systems
• Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making skills, with a high emphasis on confidentiality.
• Reading comprehension skills
• Legible hand-writing skills
• Good math skills
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good customer relations skills, internal/external
• Effective self-directed time management skills
• Effective Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-area and out-of-state travel may be expected to branch locations.
